Ferndale, MI — There’s some exciting news for foodies and fans of Grey Ghost Detroit’s popular burger, which is the focus of a new venture set to debut this summer near downtown Ferndale!
Four Man Ladder Hospitality announced their upcoming fourth concept, Little Ghost, earlier this month. The management team operates Grey Ghost, a popular chophouse and fine-dining establishment in the Midtown District of Detroit, Second Best (a dope bar legit right across the street from Grey Ghost), and Basan (about a block or so west of the other two, across Woodward Avenue).
The eatery will feature a scratch-made menu featuring the team’s beloved burger from Grey Ghost Detroit, the chicken sandwich, and other signature sides. The fast-casual concept will primarily cater to takeout customers, folks on the go looking for a quick and stellar burger to hold back their hunger for a while.
Although I’ve been to Grey Ghost several times with friends, I’ve yet to properly document a foodie adventure for the establishment—aside from the routine Instagram story posts. It’s challenging to find the words that can acutely describe how delicious and savory this burger is. The burger is so popular and revered that it made Hour Detroit Magazine’s Best of 2025 list! A few weeks later, Four Man Ladder Hospitality announced that the famed burger would have its own restaurant spotlight in Ferndale at Little Ghost.
The burger might seem like your typical two-patty smash burger, but aside from the perfectly seared patties and melted cheese, the sauce, egg, and bacon are what ultimately culminate this burger into being a powerhouse of flavor. As most astute servers at Grey Ghost will advise, the real secret is adding the over-easy egg to your burger. Typically, juggling an oozing, yolk-encased burger wouldn’t be my first choice when deciding between burger options at most places, but put the Ghost burger up against most places around Metro Detroit, and I’d probably pick Grey Ghost’s every time. So, needless to say, I’m pretty excited to have a place firing out these burgers right down the street from me!

Little Ghost will be located along the southbound side of Woodward Avenue just south of 9 Mile Road. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the launch is expected this summer, which is right around the corner! According to the group’s most recent press release, construction is currently underway at the restaurant, with a grand opening planned for early summer. More details on opening day are expected to be announced closer to the concept’s completion.
“We’re really excited to bring this new project to life,” says chef and co-owner Joe Giacomino. “The Grey Ghost burger has built quite a loyal following – we’re thrilled to be able to offer it in a playful new way in Oakland County.”
Check the social media pages for Little Ghost and Grey Ghost Detroit for updates on the opening date for Little Ghost in Ferndale; it’ll be here before you know it! And when the eatery does open, you can count on me to embark on a foodie adventure to check it out and report back on my experience. Until then, in the name of all things food, we’re going on an adventure!
